Candidates will learn NRA policies and procedures, basic public speaking skills, training methodology, use of a training team and training aids, course organization, budget considerations, and finally, preparation to instruct an initial basic pistol course to individuals with little or no experience.In addition, candidates will be provided the appropriate lesson plans and basic course student packets. Role-Play is a major element of the course and candidates will take turns working individually and in teams.
Each candidate is evaluated based on his/her ability to handle firearms with confidence, use of appropriate training aids, and adherence to the basic pistol lesson plans.
All learning objectives will be accomplished utilizing the teaching philosophies expected of NRA Certified Instructors. Evaluation and improving the skills of new shooters will be thoroughly addressed.
Attendance all 3 days is required.
